Happy Birthday, Portrait Party!

Over the past year, dozens of people have paired up and drawn and the results are incredible. Now, in honor of th anniversary of the party's launch, Rama has arranged a special contest. Six of us will choose among the work that is posted between March 15th and March 31st. Everyone who participates will get a special postcard from Rama and the best two will get a bunch of additional prizes. All the details can be found here.
Don't let the fact that it's a contest intimidate you. Anyone who participates is a winner because the experience is so much fun. Find a friend (even someone you only know online) and fire up your pens. Enter as many times as you want!

Yeah, a bloger friend of mine turned me on to it about a year ago--what a great idea. I've never been great at portraits, so it's been a good challenge, and yes, anyone can participate. The wallets Rama's giving away are pretty spiffy too.

the contest really IS just for fun. if anyone is nervous about it, don't be at all. if i know the jurors, they'll be judging the joy people take in drawing as much as the drawings themselves.
