You may have wanted the back-runs or blossoms in the background of your protrait as they are often a very effective texture tool. If you want to prevent them, however, dampen the entire background with clear water prior to dropping in your color.
That said, I absolutely love your drawings and watercolors. I look at them and say, "I wish I had done that."
Danny, wonderful drawing. You make a pen dance across the paper when it's in your'e hand. This is like the old days of this blog when I first found you. Signing in and you being heare with youre wonderful art and words.
Glad to see you back Danny.

This is a good portrait but I have to tell you I have seen some of your others that blow me away. It appears that you are just scratching the surface of where you use to be. I can understand your current rutt. I have been adding to my website and giving myself deadlines for putting up new work. At first the deadlines gave me the inspiration to create new works every week. Now I feel like it saps the creativity out of me. I think the best piece you create in the coming weeks should not be posted here. If anything just tell us of the creative wall you breakthrough and just love the experience.
Well, I am sorta new at looking at your website and so I haven't seen all the stuff you've done in the past but I am enjoying what you have posted here. I like your style because it's loose and spur-of-the-moment looking. Don't listen to muffy.....show us everything ya want to! Cheers!

Soooo nice. Are you still using your Grumbacher paints? Or was this done with something else? :)

Really admire the strong lines. There's absolutely no fear when you draw, is there? Something for me to aspire to.

Good line and color. Congrats on letting the watercolor work for itself.
