Hi Danny,
thanks for posting the lovely photos of Kate and the entries for her book. Although I missed out on this one, (I think my entry would still be in transit overseas) please do more things like this! I have really enjoyed this personal approach to a book review and will definitely buy her book now. Good luck to Kate and thanks for sharing the winners entries, it is nice to know someone actually wins these things! cheers, Georgia in Australia

Dear Georgia:
Thanks for asking but ordering it through my store just takes you to Amazon and allows us to tally how many people bought it because of the competition making it easier to do this with publishers in the future.
Your pal,
Danny

I will buy the book A Year in Japan. Also bought the How magazine. Thanks to you! Can you tell a little about Kate? Did she turn a journal into her book or was it sketches she made with no intention of those becoming a book? Or did I miss this explanation in previous posts?

Dear Luci:
Thanks for buying Kate's book and How magazine. I conducted an exhaustive interview with Kate a few weeks ago, Check it out here:

How fun to see my entry among all the other entered postcards. I already borrowed Kate's book from the library and it went on my "to buy" list. Thanks for hosting such a fun competition

I didn't enter the competition because I'm in Canada, but I did buy a copy at an independent bookstore.

Pity I didn't win the book, but fun to see my card lying there on your table on the other side of the Atlantic. Glad it arrived in time. Congrats to the winners!

Oh, I'm just so terrifically excited! This book looks so very gorgeous and it looks like my postcard was chosen as one of the winners. I just screamed out my surprise and glee in the library where I work. Thank you so much, Danny, for hosting this competition and thank you Kate for putting something so beautiful into the world.

Silly me, I meant to say drawing, NOT competition.
