The weather looks bleak for this weekend, so we are going to postpone the New York Sketchcrawl, alas. Hopefully, Ma Nature will cooperate next weekend and we can 'crawl on the 29th or 30th. Dang.

This is good news for me! I got sick this week and could not have done it tomorrow, but next week is great! Meeting time and place will still be the same????
What sad news! I was really looking forward to this weekend, and won't be able to make it next. So you'll just have to schedule another one for November! Rain, rain, go away.....
Someone really, really needs to proclaim an international day of the sketchcrawl all ready. One single day, once a year when everyone in the world can feel camraderie with their fellow sketching brothers, no matter where they are, or what the weather is: Hey, actually, have you considered moving this thing indoors? I mean, you guys live in New York, there's ton's of humongous, inspiring, drawable, buildings there - why not just show up at the MET? Beautiful architecture, art, cafes and ton's and ton's of people. Sounds good to me... If only I lived in NYC.
Beth- there are two World Wide SketchCrawl day scheduled in November and december ... (Respectively WWSC#5 is november 13th and WWSC # is december 11th) in those days we try and get everyone from all over the world to join in ... and the website hopefully is a good place to come together ...
At first I thought it'd be good to make these days a yearly thing, but it's just not enough ... people want to have these quite often !
So this year by the december we'll have done 5 World Wide Crawls.
If you have a minute subscribe to the mailing list, you will get updates on when these happen ... and more importantly come by the forums and share the drawings if you can. Part of the fun is seeing drawings from all over the world ...
I think I mean something closer to what Danny linked too a couple years ago - an actual annual holiday as opposed to a regular event. I think sketchcrawls themselves should happen all the time, but it would be nice to have one super-focused day a year with a little more fan-fare and concentration. The same day, every year. I know it's not like artists like to get too organized, but it would still be cool. You could add workshops, picnics and concerts to the day, all over. It would be like a worldwide simultaneous convention - but a little less nerdy and a lot more participatory. Maybe I'm just thinking too big... I just like to have set dates to shoot for. Like Christmas.
Oh I see what you mean Beth, the "mother of all sketchcrawl days" ... interesting point ... it would require quite a bit of work ... but we could slowly work up to that ... hopefully ...
Hey Danny, sure got rained out also in Pittsburgh and so cold out there. Is therenanyone in the Pittsburgh area that you know of? It would be wonderful to beable to start a journaling drawing group. Thats why I thank-you for your web sight cause its lonley here by my self and no classes near by to go to. Thanks... Have a great day.

Good point, Beth. Of course, we're saving the Met, Grand Central, etc for the February sketchcrawl.
Oh and check this out:
