Nostalgia of the Day - Roz revisited

June 22, 2005

It's been nearly a year since I visited Roz Stendahl in her perfect little studio. Inspired by my recent barnstorm with Tom and D.Price, I took a fresh re-visit through the journal pages Roz created during my trip . Like Howard Stern, she's the master of all media; her work always gives me fresh ideas and hope.

Wow what a great place to work. I started going through some of the journals on her site-beautiful

That’s so wonderful you have someone that inspires you! There’s an artist I’m dying to meet, but I haven’t been so lucky. =P

Danny, it was so funny to see myself as the nostalgia of the day. I can safely say that I've never been that before and it is quite FUN!

Your posting has reminded me that I am behind in my updating of my website. I haven't done it since January (EEK). I'll get busy on that.

I do hope you get to visit again soon. We have a female baby zebra at the Como Zoo right now who is down right perfect! She still has some fuzzy fur on her brown stripped back. I was there yesterday and recalled how fun it was to draw with you.

Unfortunately it was in the 90s (which even without humidity makes me wilt) and so after standing around drawing pelicans for a bit I was in no shape to draw the zebras, but there will be another day.

I'm gearing up for the State Fair draw-athon now! And you'll be happy to know thanks to your encouragement (OK, bossiness) I have been drawing a lot more buildings, broadening my horizon, or at least my picture plane.

Howard Stern gives you "fresh ideas and hope?" Hope?!

What a great artist.... She really has a multi-tude of amazing styles. Very inspiring .

Terrific drawing and painting! I've used the waterbrushes and now wonder why it took so long for someone to come up with the design. Gawd, they're great.
