Our outdoor cat (that has adopted us) presents us with similar gifts from time to time on our back patio. I hate to break the news to ya buddy, but that tail is a little long for a mouse… you might be look’n at his bigger brother… =)
Hee, hee. I'm not alone taking pictures of the cat's "presents". My 3 year old orange tabby, Ceasar, drops off a variety of small wild life on our front patio. I started taking pictures of them for his Muerto photo album.
You know, it hadn't really occurred to me until just now, but a lot of smallish (no offense) dogs were actually bred to catch mice and rats. Thus, the rat terrier. And, apparently, the Dachshund. (Actuallly, dachshunds were originally bred to hunt badgers, but I don't think badgers are much of a problem in the modernday home, no?)
One of our rescued cats smokey, 12 years old and still a psychopath, brought home two Bank Voles in one night last week. I just wish she wouldn't scream at 2 in the morning to wake us for a viewing of her prizes.
After she brought home another the following night she has been renamed 'Vole de Mort' as a pun on the name of the evil character in the Harry Potter books.
We used to have a huge herd of mice in our back porch (frequent trespassers too) until we renovated the house last year. Dug a huge pit where there house was and now it's a mouse grave yard. I miss the pitter patter of thier little feet..and those tiny turds. not!
Sounds familiar. Ripley, the American Bulldog, gifted us with a squirrel in the hallway the other day. Terrier heritage. I guess they just can't resist can they?
Yeah, I took a picture. Yeah, I'm going to draw it. I can't resist either.
