Tom Kane and I met up just after 8 am at the L train station and travelled into WiIliamsburg, Brooklyn. The day was cold and intermittently rainy but we were fairly well provisioned though Tom was much impressed by my folding stool (too bad I didn't bring it to the Met last weekend) and vowed to get his own.
We spend most of the day in industrialized parts of the neighborhood and occasionally ducked into coffee shops or bars to shelter from the elements and fortify ourselves. I decided to work just in black and white and to intensify my cross-hatching. Tom is a master of detailed shading and I followed his lead.
All in all, it was a very satisfying experience, though utterly depleting. We were both completely wiped out after nine hours of drawing outdoors and felt old and stiff from the wet ground and the grey skies. Can't wait to try it again, hopefully in warmer weather.

The spiral binding showing on scans is great. Gooey like full frame 35mm prints where you print through the actual edge of the camera matte. Makes it clear they're unadulterated.

Looks like you and Tom displayed great stamina and of course even greater artistic flair! Industrial landscapes make for such fantastic artistic subjects. Nice work, guys.

amazing, the black and white colours works really well. You put so much detail in your drawings.

Oh My Goodness! It is so much fun to see both of these entries one after the other. Your styles are similar but so different. Very nice shading, Danny!

Great drawings, Danny.
I crawled some on Saturday and again on Sunday (sort of two half-day crawls.) The first day was at the dinosaur exhibit closing at the LA Zoo ... the second day was at Pasadena's DooDah parade (pix at link below). Lots of fun, even though it was colder than we're used to in LA.
