Draw together

October 25, 2004

I just came across this little site from GE, of all people. The idea is to encourage people to draw collaboratively via the Web. I started a drawing and invited some pals to join me. I'll report on what if anything we create. Give it a try and maybe we can share drawings.

What fun! Not sure how it works, exactly, but it'll be interesting to experiment. Thanks for showing the way.

Interesting to see this simple little sketching site with GE's logo on it. Don't know if too many people know this but GE pioneered computer graphics back in the 80's with a company they grew called "genigraphics". It all started with space simulation graphics and lead into slide producing graphics. I am a "veteran" from that company!
Sharon

Sharon, I remember seeing a presentation by Genigraphics in LA about that time and I was blown away by the possibilities. At a time when all word processing was white characters on a black screen ( like our TRS-80) we knew we had just seen the future, and it was very very cool.

Ooooh! Thanks for the link! I tried it last year when someone on SARK's message board posted it. They had some fun drawings on it.
I was too perfectionist with it, as I'm apt to do, got frustrated, and never finished mine. I ought to go back and try it again...without trying so hard!
I'd love to see what you and your pals create, Danny!

I must say that drawing with a mouse is the hardest thing! It makes me feel like an uncoordinated little kid. I hope that my son is better at it than me because I invited him to draw with me :-)

Oh -- this looks like fun! I'd love to share a drawing with someone --

Fun!

Drawing with it reminds me of Etch-A-Sketch.

I would love to share a drawing too!

Hmm, I'm quite sure we took a loan from GE Captial Bank last year...

Had fun playing about, tho' find my "control" of line is rudimentary. It looked like a demented child's drawing! I was a bit disappointed to read the fine print & find it was not supposed to be used by under 18 y olds... shame, as my little friends would love it- it would be a fine way to interact from afar. Good concept, perhaps someone could improve on it ?

Thanks for sharing this. This convince me even more that having fun is a big part of creative process.
