Here's the newest member of our family. He's a 14 week old, miniature long-haired dachshund and Jack's constant companion. After three days, we all love him a lot.
If he ever slows down, I shall try to draw him.
soooo cute - did you know there was a gallery in the north of england where there is a big David Hockney collection and if you come with a dachshund entrance is free?
for a minute i thought, man by the time lisa and i get to visit you guys again or have you guys come here joe will probably be all grown up and not a cute little(emphasis on small) puppy anymore. then i thought hes a miniature! he will ALWAYS be little and cute.ahh..cant wait. good luck with joe.
m - is that the Saltaire gallery? And the reason for the free dachshund entry is because Hockney owned several dachshunds.
*sorry, bit of a Hockney fan!*
Danny, please tell Jack that he's very lucky to have such a great companion.
I've wanted a dachshund for about 3 years now, my aunt used to have one and he was lovely. Little sausage dogs.
Mine will be called Frankie (short for Frankfurt!)
Emily I'm not sure which gallery it is but I can remember reading about it and it is because Hockey has a lot of daschunds - he did a series of paintings of his dogs.
In my house, we have a saying when there is such an abundance of cuteness...it's "TFQ" which, if you couldn't guess, stands for "too f-ing cute". Yes, I know it's a bit crude, and also not alliteratively correct, but, if the shoe fits...
There is nothing better than a long-haired dachshund, especially at puppyhood! I raised two of them, the last one was also a red one like this pup - she was a wonderful dog, lived to be 14, passed away a year and a half ago.
A record of my exploration into all aspects of drawing, illustrated journaling, creativity, and the inspiring aspects of art. By the author of "Everyday Matters," "The Creative License", and "An Illustrated Life" and other books.
