Everyday Matters Picnic IAugust 14, 2004
![]() The weather was threatening but the turnout was great. Dozens of folks showed up with their journals and watercolor sets and offerings for the potluck lunch. We all shared our work, swapped tips on great books, websites, watercolors, pens and things. By 4:30, as the storm gathered, we reluctantly departed, agreeing that we should do it again and we will, at least twice a year. Great thanks to Melly for conceiving and arranging the event. I have hurriedly posted some photos. |

Thanks for sharing these momnets from the Everyday Matters picnic with those of us who, for this event, are geographically challenged. It looks as if everyone found lots to talk about and to share with each other. Despite your comments regarding the weather, everyone looks dressed for warm weather which makes us winter wrapped Aussies a little jealous.

Ohmygoodness! I had so much fun! It was fantastic to meet you, Patti and Jack! And in such company!
It was great to see how clean and austere your journals were (compared to mine that is). I love Scott Clugstone's journals and to see Jacks Journals was just fantastic! He is quite the prolific young artist! I fell in love with Patti in all of her beauty!
Such a great time.

It was great to put the faces with the names that are so familiar from the list. Thank you Melly and Danny for facilitating this get-together. Everyone was warm and open and generous, sharing artwork and great food. I hope to do it again.

Looks like a good time. I was pleased to see that several handmade books were in evidence. That's incouraging.

I wanted to come, I really really wanted to come (from Long Island)-- unfortunately it was my Saturday to work... When will the next one be? I will come, I really will come!
I don't have a web presence but I do have voluminous diaries, sometimes illustrated... (and a newsletter, if you'd like me to send one to you.)

I loved hearing and seeing images from this picnic! How I wish I could have been there. Perhaps I could come next time - have a cousin who lives in the city and a visit to her is long overdue. Please plan another and let us know! Maybe you can get Dan Price to come too.
