Every bike mattersMarch 31, 2004
![]() Taliah Lempert only paints bikes. Her site is bulging with wonderful portraits of steel, chrome and rubber. I love her style, her simplicity, her craft and consistency. She also documents many of the paintings as she does them with step-by-step photos, so you can follow her choices and progress. She says: "I paint to explain, record and express my community, surroundings and myself. The bikes belong to me and my friends; commuters, messengers and racers. They are worn and customized in unique ways that leave a trace of use, being at once a specific bike and a collective symbol." |

I tried riding bikes once in the city....Houston. It nearly killed me!!! I'm envious of her riding ability and freedom. Great artwork too!
