Party invitationFebruary 17, 2004
![]() Let's talk to each other! One of the wonderful thing about having an online journal has been the dialogue I've had with people posting comments. But I would prefer it if the series of dialogues turned into a gigantic cocktail party with people roving around and chatting with each other too. I think the energy will grow exponentially. So I've set up a Yahoo! Group for anyone who'd like to participate. Just go to Everyday Matters - the Group sign up, then join the chat, vent, hold forth or just lurk. So, as I stand here in the empty room, rearranging the hors d'oeuvres and hoping we have enough ice... I can't wait for the party to begin! Who's that at the door? |

YAY!! Just signed up as "americanmatilda". What a cool idea, Danny! I'm sure everyone who visits will get a kick out of it!

it's dana with a slushy bottle of champagne in one hand, a plate of buffalo wings in the other, my journal tucked under my left arm, a lot of pencils stuck in various ears and hair and a small box of watercolors clamped in my teeth. I'm ready for the party. Drinking and journaling with virtual friends...what could be better?

werd dana, and while I typically don't imbibe whilst riding my desk at work, I'm certainly not averse to this welcome distraction - in the office or at home! thanks for the gracious invitation, danny.

Been lurking for a bit. Went out Monday and bought a sketch pad and a set of Staedler pens. Yesterday, I drew one little thing that is sitting on my desk. I have taken "art" classes in the past and took a series of classes from Betty Edwards (Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain)and her disciples about ten years ago. So. Here I go, thanks to your inspiration. I'm signing up for the group...

Just picked up "Everyday Matters" today as the bookstore had ordered it ages ago and it's finally here! Now it'd better be good Danny, OR ELSE. Just kidding. What journal is that in "The Open Book" entry of yesterday? It looks so nice and wide and I need lots of room for my spastic way of drawing....

Was disappointed. I associate a giant cocktail party with large amounts of alcohol greasing discussion with people you might not otherwise grease yourself with. And food in small pieces. Imaginary doesn't really count, right?
