Pissarro!

oooo..I feel I've been "tsk tsk-ed"

Aaaah... that's how I end up with so many sketches of coffee mugs at my local (Japanese) Starbucks, my knitting, and a couple of teddy bears... the things that just happen to be laying around when I put something down and pick up my sketch book. I suppose if I start drawing in the tub I'll end up with lots of sketches of my soap -- ooh, but that's a good one, because the soap changes shape every single day!

I think I need to print out that list to use as a reminder... won't give up reading everydaymatters though. no better inspiration for me to pick up my sketchbook :)

Yes, even though quite jet-lagged, a ten minute before bed drawing is in order! Danny, thanks for being a mentor and teacher for so many, if not all, of us! And thanks to everyone else too..you're also teachers to the rest!!
I'll check out the yahoo group soon, if not tonight...

ah, that's how some people don't see when the light turns green!
i don't believe in drawing while you eat, it's the only time i can relaz and not think about drawing.
but that's just me.

Ahem, if I can just be your editor for a moment here...Drawing during commercials: 6 drawings AN hour or PER hour, not @. And..I really don't know how to draw IN the phone? Heehee! Sorry, they were bugging me, I just had to. Forgive me.

hehehe...thatz true, just as my prof.says "you DO want YOU want to do"

YES! one small thing -- removing TV from your life -- will add HOURS and HOURS of art-making time....

there's always time to draw -- as there is always time to breathe.

Not convinced anyone should be encouraged to do ANYthing while smoking crack! But the rest of the list is interesting and I LOVE the illustration that goes with it.

Actually I did some sketching last year. No, really. I sketched on coctail napkins while I sat at a bar waiting for an interesting woman to walk into my life. No woman, but I did recently paste the little pieces of napkin into my sketchbook, so I've something to show for the time.

Drawing is a discipline much like everything else, I find. It just doesn't seem to be, because it can be such fun - but if I were to tote up the hours I spend thinking of what I want a certain drawing to look like and translate it into, 'What the heck, draw anyway and you'll improve even if it looks lousy', I think I'd be a far better artist now than I currently am.

How funny though; I'd just decided to start doing a sketch journal when you posted this Danny! Thank you for the kick in the pants. I've now got three entries and am working on the discipline to complete the third properly.

great ideas!
