This is a photocopy of a watercolor I just made for our friend, Cynthia. It commemorates the night I introduced her to Patti, four years ago. We went to the Pierre, had too many martinis and, upon leaving, Patti shot out of the bar and spilled (out of her chair) and onto Fifth Avenue! Cynthia was so cool about this debacle that we knew she would be our friend.
I am fairly happy with the uptown, 1950s feeling of the drawing and I hope it'll look good in her pad.

Your friend Cynthia will be very happy with this I'm sure, it does have a very retro feel doesn't it...as for the incident it depicts, I presume your good wife was shaken, but not stirred by it! (Sorry Patti, a weak pun at best, but the martinis made me do it)

Great watercolor !!! Great story! A friend, of whom I am also a personal attendant for is a quadraplegic....I just had to share this with them. So good that we can laugh at ourselves and with friends in awkward and sometimes embarrasing situations. After all, we're only human. Thanks for sharing this story and the watercolor. I'm sure Cynthia will be thrilled by your rendition and recollection of that fine day. (Patti...she'll do anything for a laugh...she took the toast of "Bottoms Up" a little to literally !!!)
